Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age of five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. When she was 10, she had already taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It also was the film that was most popular in 2001. The opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film, as well as the performance by three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for a feature Film. The actress was awarded five times for her performance in the movie.
